LONDON, June 24 (IranMania) - The third Persian rug festival will be held in Tehran from June 26 to July 6, MNA reported.
A number of 120 exquisite rugs and framed carpets will be put on display during the event.
?Iran?s hand-woven carpet dates back to 2,500 years ago,? said a festival?s academic board member, adding the high quality of Persian carpet is the key to its continuing popularity, helping it have the final say among mushrooming rivals.
Reza Hasseli, however, blamed mismanagement for the damage to the country?s carpet industry in the recent years.
